WMOR Recap –May 10, 2023
· We hope to make a visit to a shrine this summer – probably in July. Hopefully some of you can join us.
· Favorite Podcasts:
o US Grace force – with Fr. Richard Heilman and Doug Barry
o Taylor Marshall - Conservative Catholic – I don’t agree with everything her says but I learn lots from him
o Exorcist Files – Creepy but true cases of Fr. Carlos Martin, an exorcist. The stories are acted out. If you do not believe in the devil – this will change your mind. A good one for the adult children – who love this stuff and of course think they know everything.
o Catechism in a Year – Fr. Mike Schmitz
o Food for the Journey – Sr. Ann Shields – LOVE her!!! Daily reading and commentary – only 14 minutes.
· Favorite APP
o Hallow – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. It’s worth the $$, and I NEVER pay for an App.
This APP has everything in one place. My newest favorite thing is under the Easter Music heading. Specifically – Sarah Kroger – London Sessions – excellent songs – especially Beloved and The Detour
We listened to the song Beloved by Sarah Kroger https://youtu.be/K_6PcNBUj4c
The Hallow version is better.
Do you realize just how much HE loves you? Each one of us is His beloved. He smiled the day he made you – yes- YOU. Picture that in your mind. He finds you beautiful in EVERY way. Think about that. But we just seem to only own our past, our fears, compare ourselves to others, see ourselves in the mirror as a mess, or what others may think of us – STOP.
You are HIS beloved ‘His love is fierce and endless and He will find you, whatever it takes. Let Him love you and know you are His beloved. Sit and listen to this song – lyrics are below.
Have a blessed summer!
Belovedness by Sarah Kroger
You've owned your fear and all your self-loathing
You've owned the voices inside of your head
You've owned the shame and reproach of your failure
It's time to own your belovedness
You've owned your past and how it's defined you
You've owned everything everybody else says
It's time to hear what your Father has spoken
It's time to own your belovedness
He says, "You're mine, I smiled when I made you
I find you beautiful in every way
My love for you is fierce and unending
I'll come to find you, whatever it takes
My beloved"
You've owned the mess you see in the mirror
You've owned the lies that you're just not enough
You've been so blinded by all you're comparing
It's time to own your belovedness
He says, "You're mine, I smiled when I made you
I find you beautiful in every way
My love for you is fierce and unending
I'll come to find you, whatever it takes
My beloved"
You are completely loved and fully known
Beloved, believe He died to make your heart His home
And He says, "You're mine, I smiled when I made you
I find you beautiful in every way
My love for you is fierce and unending
I'll come to find you, whatever it takes"
He says, "You're mine, I smiled when I made you
I find you beautiful in every way
My love for you is fierce and unending
I'll come to find you, whatever it takes
My beloved"
It's time to own your belovedness

Holy Moments – Matthew Kelly – this book was a gift from the Ignite
Youth Ministry – each lady present at WMOR received one.
Start living as if the Messiah is among you!
Treat every person you ever meet as the second coming of Jesus in
disguise.
You have so much more to offer – you know it. If you sense
something is missing, you have more to offer, or that you are
supposed to move on to the next step – these are sacred truths about
yourself! Claim them and follow them! Find meaning in your life! The
more disconnected from God our lives become the more meaningless
life becomes. Holy moments give meaning and divine purpose to our
lives.
It comes down to this: “Some moments are holy, some moments are
unholy, and our choices can guide a moment in either direction. This
one idea holds the power to bring meaning and purpose to every
moment of your life!
What is a Holy Moment?
“A Holy moment is a single moment in which you open yourself up to
God. You make yourself available to Him. You set aside personal
preference and self-interest, and for one moment you do what you
prayerfully believe God is calling you to do.”
I challenge you ladies, to make this your Advent mission. Start today!
I read this book in August and I was so impacted by it, I purchased 6
more for Christmas gifts for my siblings and friends. And once I
approached each moment as a Holy moment the situation yielded
wonderful outcomes.
The Holidays are upon us, they are stressful, cooking, shopping,
getting kids ready for school, baking, dealing with “those” problem
family members, I tell you, your holidays will be significantly better
AND you will see a change in those around you too!
We all know that choices have consequences, we tell our kids that all
the time!!! But Holy moments are choices that are easy to live with,
they hold seeds of goodness.
The Good Samaritan is the patron Saint of Holy Moments – he did
the right thing and could live with his choice. Could the Priest and
scholar that passed the injured man feel the same way? I don’t think
so.
You can create Holy Moments in any situation – Health, marriage,
family, work, spirituality, home life, finances, friendships, recreation,
community and personal growth. Holy moments make us better
mothers, wives, children and sisters, colleagues and better humans!
What are some examples of Holy moments?
Control your temper, even if you are fully justified in losing it
Pray before making a decision
Encourage someone, coach someone, praise someone, affirm
someone.
Be patient with that person who drives you crazy
Give whoever is in front of you your full attention.
Overlook an offense against you.
Do something that makes you become a better version of
yourself, even when you don’t feel like it.
Clean up the mess even though you didn’t make it.
Teach someone about Holy Moments.
Once you start, you will see opportunities pop up throughout your
day! There is nothing more fulfilling that collaborating with God to
create Holy moments. Holy moments fill us with hope!
The world is a mess, it’s no secret – and I’m not being political here
either.
What caused this mess…… unholy moments? Unholy moments
make us less of who we were created to be, and every unholy
moment makes the world a little messier. The world will always be a
mess but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive to make it a little less
messy!
Holy moments is the answer to the world’s problems. Progress in
technology has been moving at rocket speed but not all of it is good –
Social Media – our phones…..
There has been a failure in spiritual progress! Most people would like
to believe that progress is dependent on our intellectual capacity to
innovate and that our moral character is irrelevant to the quest. Moral
character is essential for progress to happen. The cultures
aggression toward morality and dismissal of anything spiritual is a
major obstacle to progress in society.
How will society flourish begins with acknowledging what causes a
human being to flourish. Our lives only improve when we grow in
virtue. Virtues of patience, generosity, perseverance, compassion,
courage, humility, these are hallmarks of a human flourishing! And
these virtues build character.
The progress that is desperately needed will only be achieved with
Holy moments! It’s time to stop searching for worldly solutions to
spiritual problems. The world needs Good Samaritans, the world
needs Holy moments!
In summary, sometimes you will accept the invitation to collaborate
with God in a Holy moment, and sometimes your laziness,
procrastination, or selfishness will get the better of you. Either way,
you will begin to notice how you feel in each case, and you will
observe the ripple effects – positive or negative – that result from
your choices.
Holy moments require boldness –This Advent, decide to light a
candle rather than curse the darkness, decide to collaborate with God
and create Holy moments and boldly share this concept with others
And remember - You were made in the image of God, act
accordingly!
Also – pray for the Holy Spirit in someone else.
