A Novena is a prayer in which we ask God for a specific intention. It is repeated for nine consecutive days. Novenas date back to the time of the Apostles. The origin can be found in the Acts of the Apostles where the Blessed Mother and the disciples prayed in the upper room prior to the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
Please join us as we pray daily for each other's intentions. Each month we will post a new Novena Prayer as well as a link to have your intentions included.
This February, we will pray a Novena to Our Lady of Lourdes for healing from physical, mental or spiritual illness. Pray this novena for nine days.
Our Lady of Lourdes is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in honour of the Marian apparitions that are claimed to have occurred in 1858 in the vicinity of Lourdes in France.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in southern France is the most visited pilgrimage site in the world — principally because of the apparent healing properties of the waters of the spring that appeared during the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to a poor, fourteen-year-old girl, Bernadette Soubirous.
